Tyler Hansbrough and Josh McRoberts head-to-head
A USA Today photographer was in Durham, N.C., last week to shoot a series of photos of UNC sophomore forward Tyler Hansbrough (Poplar Bluff) and Duke sophomore forward Josh McRoberts. TarHeelBlue.com has a 12-photo gallery from the photo shoot on its web site.
Hansbrough, last year's ACC Freshman of the Year, skipped a chance to enter the NBA Draft this summer and said he wanted another chance to win a national championship. The fact that Hansbrough will play just 2 hours from Poplar Bluff this season might have been a factor, too -- the Tar Heels play Dec. 22 at University of St. Louis in a game scheduled to air on ESPNU.

That should be a dandy -- McRoberts vs. Hansbrough. I think it's pretty evident that Duke will again have the superior team between the two (although we've seen in the past that this idea isn't always accurate when it comes to the head-to-head matchups), but the battle of the sophomore forwards should be more of a fair fight. Hansbrough stuck out like a golden thumb last year because Carolina was especially weak after losing 29 players early to the draft, and McRoberts was overshadowed by arguably the best two players in the country in Redick and Williams. Look for the fiery McRoberts to come out strong this year and likely dominate Hansbrough in the paint. All anyone wants to talk about is Hansbrough, but after he visits Cameron this year, he'll be walking his sorry rear back down Tobacco Road.
whew....cameronkrazy...'dem FIGHTIN' WORDS.
GOOOOOOOO DDDDDUUUUKKKKKEEEEE!!!!!
i found it extremely hilarious that cameronkrazy would say that duke will have the superior team...again. first off, duke will be down this year, down but not out. second off duke hasn't won a national championship until 2001, and jj redick and shelden williams couldn't bring them the big one, therefore they weren't the two best players last year or any years, the best players know how to win. Hansbrough has proven himself very worthy of all the reconigtion he gets, since Carolina was down a little last year, that means other teams could double and even triple team him, making it much tougher on him. McRoberts had the luxury to sit back and watch other stars do the work, and never did he step up they way he can. McRoberts has a lot of potential, but i've yet to see it out of him. I can't wait until Carolina blows the doors of the Dukies this year..they're young mixed with old, their explosive and boy are they gonna be good...Give em' hell Roy.
