A mixed martial arts competitor from the area could land himself in the Guiness Book of World Records after this weekend.
Don Davis Sr. of Sikeston will try to become the oldest MMA fighter in history Saturday when he competes against Justin Moyer at the Absolute Fighting Challenge event in Poplar Bluff.
Davis, at 63, can set the record by stepping into the ring in one of several fights on the card. The event at Scooter's II starts at 7 p.m.
Davis trains at The Academy, a gym owned by his son, Don Davis Jr., in Morehouse.
General admission is $20, with upper level seating $25. Platinum VIP tables that seat six also are available.
